ABOUT OUR SPRING PROGRAM
The Stars spring program is intended to help develop girls' hockey players in Vermont. Over the last 21 years of the program, we have developed and implemented a training philosophy focused on helping players develop essential hockey skills with emphasis on puck touches and skating technique. We teach by using positive re-enforcement to instill confidence in our players. Practices are typically structured using a modified version of the age appropriate USA Hockey ADM (American Development Model) guidelines. We have an experienced staff of coaches supported by current and past female NCAA players. We also have specialized goalie training included in the skill sessions!
The structure of the Stars spring program will be a little different than past years. We will still have our skill clinics and heavy focus on skating skills. We will also incorporate more game situation training in our schedule.
Spring Schedule
The spring program is 9 ice sessions per age group. We will have an evaluation session for each age group (except 8u) in March to establish age/skill appropriate groups. This evaluation will also serve as a tryout for tournament teams. Practice skill sessions start late April. The 18u age bracket is intended for current (2025-26) season High School players.
